Book Reviews of Inkdeath (Inkheart Trilogy)

Book Review: By far the weakest of trilogy
Summary: 3 Stars

I really enjoyed Inkspell and Inkhart. They were very imaginative and well written books with great spacing, great characaters and a great plot.

Inkdeath is just not as good. It's like Corneia Funke knew what she wanted to do for the ending and just filled in six hundred pages with mindless bantering and story lines that just went around in circles again and again. There were several storylines that just tried to build up suspense... such as the Bluejay and his final confrontation with the Adder. Maggie chosing between her two fictional boyfriends. I was reading it wishing she would just get to the point.

The book would have been a lot better if she would have just cut out 300 pages of uselss junk and shortened up the story.

Inkdeath is not a bad book to read but it definilty isn't nearly as strong as her other books.

Book Review: Complex plot weak characters
Summary: 3 Stars

I like this last installment of the Inkheart trilogy for the darkness of the story and the complexity of the plot. The character development however was rather weak. Major characters change completely to the point of becoming strangers to the readers. Strong female characters like Meggie, Resa, Roxanne and Elinor fizzled down at the end. They become stand ups for the typical stereotypes of so many other women characters. It is not so much who they are but rather what man they love, how beautiful they are and how motherly they behave; ladies in distress, bickering and jealous. Elinor, the feisty book collector becomes the perennial cantakerous stupid old woman . Funke turns them into background embelishment. I thought if a woman wrote this story, characters like Her Ugliness, and Elinor at least would have a chance to shine. No such luck.

Book Review: Conclusion
Summary: 5 Stars

I waited in anticipation for this book. I loved the previous ones and was hoping this one wouldn't disappoint and it didn't. First of all let me say that the characters are NOT created for us. The author is sharing herself with us. The characters are hers. With that said, I took my time with the book and read it as slowly as I could. I loved it. I haven't anticipated a book this much since Harry Potter. Kudos to the author for a wonderful and enduring series.

Book Review: Excellent book!!
Summary: 5 Stars

By far the better of the 3 books. Definitely didn't exspect it to end the way it did. But figured it had to end with a twist....lol If you enjoy the 1st 2 then you will definitely enjoy this one as well. But if you haven't read them in order don't bother because you are sure to be lost.....lol

Book Review: Fantastic Book
