Book Reviews of Inkdeath (Inkheart)

Book Review: Amazing end to the most intriguing of trilogies
Summary: 5 Stars

It makes me sad to read some of these reviews from people who thought INKDEATH was "boring" and that "absolutely nothing happened". I fell in love with these characters in INKHEART and followed them into the Inkworld in INKSPELL (probably the best of the three books). No, Meggie is probably not the protagonist in this finale, but the other "supporting actors" are pulled to the forefront, and their performances are beyond all expectation. The relationships between all the characters are more fully explored, especially the seemingly eternal bond between Mo and Dustfinger (my ultimate-favorite character). INKDEATH is much more dark and gruesome than the other two, and younger audiences should probably stick with INKHEART. However, all storylines are wrapped up beautifully, good wins out in the end, and the final chapters are skillfully written...I could not put the book down from about p.200 till the end. I have never in my 40+ years of reading been so invested in characters....I was sad in the end, only because I wouldn't "see" them anymore. I think if you loved the first two, you will not be disappointed by INKDEATH...you will want to stay in the Inkworld forever.

Book Review: A mediocre ending to a promising story
Summary: 3 Stars

I LOVED "Inkheart", liked "Inkspell" (mostly), but "Inkdeath" left me a little cold. The first half of the book moves so slowly, I seriously began not to care where it was going. The fact that a beloved character was brought back from the dead, only to be killed again, even temporarily, was unforgivable.

Book Review: unique story
Summary: 5 Stars

I did not read the first book but the synposis at the beginning made the story understandable. This is a very unique story -a world created by the writer (and his pen) and those who can read the story into reality. I recommend this book highly to those of us with an imagination

Book Review: Not as good as Inkheart
Summary: 3 Stars

My son enjoyed the book, which completes his collection. He thought it was okay, but not "absolutely super." He was fine with the ending--I wondered after reading some reviews. I'll have to update when I've read it.

Book Review: Guilty Pleasure
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this trilogy and i'm way over the 12-18 reader recommended age. Just a gem and isn't it every readers dream to drop into a novel at some point!
