Book Reviews of Inkspell (Inkheart Trilogy)Book Review: Better than the first Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoyed this book more than the first. The majority of the story takes place inside the story of Inkspell. I could hardly stand to put the book down. It has a lot of action and adventure. It also has love, but not so much that it takes away from the story. Also, with the way it ended, I really can't wait for Inkdeath, although I will be sad to see the story end.
Book Review: Better than the first--and I loved that one Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of those incidents where the sequel is as good if not better than the original. I loved "Inkheart", but I must say I would pick this if forced to choose. Cornelia Funke has taken her clever concept of super reading aloud to an entirely new level as she actually lets us explore the world of the infamous Inkheart.
While the original book had a clever, interesting concept, this is more along the lines of classic fantasy adventure... and I love it all the more for it. The Inkworld is as good a fantasy land as one could ask for, which all the imaginative wonders and dangers.
The plot, as fun and interesting as it is, however, stands second to the character development here. I liked everyone in the first book--I loved them here.
This is a spectacular sequel in every sense of the word.
Book Review: Brings you to another world!! Summary: 5 Stars
Although the story continues in Inkspell, this book is more imaginative and spellbinding than the first. I highly enjoyed Inkheart, but I felt as though Inkspell caused my imagination to go wild with the images from the book. Funke provides wonderful descriptions and imagery in both Inkheart and Inkspell, but as opposed to Inkheart, you don't have to remind yourself that the characters in Inkheart are still in the world that we know.
However, it seems as though Inkheart moves faster plot-wise than Inkspell. I'm not saying that Inkspell is slow, but I found Inkheart slightly easier to read than Inkheart. Perhaps it was because Inkheart introduced something that was very new to me.
But Inkspell trumps Inkheart when it comes to imagination. Nevertheless, both books are extremely wonderful and quite a joy to read, even for someone who is not in her early teens anymore!
Book Review: Cornelia Funke has done it again By: "The Fonz" Summary: 5 Stars
I agree with M. Roeder in saying that Inkspell has developed characters deeper. Inkspell allows you to enter the world that in the previous book was thought to be never accessible, a world of fantasy elves, fairys, and MUCH MUCH more!!!. Meggie has finally done it and read herself into a book. She is followed too getting all of the old gang into this Inkland of magic, mystery, and tragedy. Inkspell has done nothing but solidify the fame of Inkheart by allowing the characters to make more issues and conflicts. If you loved Inkheart and could not stop dreaming of the magic world so vividly descrbied in the first book then pick up this book immediatley. Hope i was helpful "The Fonz"
Book Review: Crazy 5 Stars
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! i love inkheart and i really want 2 read the 3rd one but the barnes and noble where i live is fresh sold out. i love how the 1st one begins . it just really inroduces the personality of mo and meggie.!!!!!!... i just remember getting so worked up when dustfinger was standing in there backyard in the rain . later n the story when they r prisoners n capricorns fortress i remeber feeling so distressed that he would do something really bad to them... given what his background states. moving on... i really love how cornelia funkes mind works in stories!!!!!!!! oooooooh also in the end of the story, when meggie and fenoglio worktogether using his words and her voice to make the shadow come out of the story and kill capricorn and alot of his followers. i just think that that is pure genious... i just have one question. why didnt basta die along with it seemed to me that he was a pretty big follower. but in a way, im pretty glad that he didnt die for the simple truth that he plays a huge part in thestory as the lead villain! and as much as i hate him... i just cant stop loving him because he is such an evil, terrifying, bad, .... i just cant find the right words 2 describe him. he is this is really just a magical story...and and cornelia funke is truly an amazing person! changing the subject...I'M SO GLAD THAT MEGGIE AND FARID GOT there just so perfect for eachother! i hope they never break up. --- MADELINE RAINE ( A.K.A. CRAZY FAN!)
