Book Reviews of Inkspell

Book Review: A Fun Read
Summary: 4 Stars

This book was overall very exciting and lushly written. The characters all had very intruiging and deep personalities. The plot took some surprising turns, yet I still felt something was missing.
In this book, all of the main characters (Meggie, Farid, Dustfinger, and more) are following around a story. I felt that if the story was just happening to them, instead of them following it, it would have been more fascinating.
But overall, it was an excellent book and an excellent read.
4.5 stars.

Book Review: A Girl's Book
Summary: 4 Stars

After listening Inkheart I could not wait to listen to the next book in this truly wonderful series. Inkspell was just as good as I had hoped although in my opinion it really did become a girl's book. Being a teenage girl I thought the romance that blossmed in this book natural and perfectly cute, but it grossed my younger brother right out. I also agree that the guy who did the reading of Inkspell did not do a great job, the woman who did Inkheart did a much better performance.

Book Review: A Good Sequel to a Great Book
Summary: 4 Stars

Once again, Cornelia Funke's writing draws any reader in, as do her characters. This book did not tie itself up as well as Inkheart did, and didn't seem as satisfying. However, I look forward to the next part in the Ink series!

Book Review: A Great Adventure
Summary: 5 Stars

Inkspell is such a fun book to read. This sequel wheels you in with all of the fun. There are many fun adventures in this book especially when Meggie tries to help save her family and she needs to watch out for the Adderhead. Children will not be disappointed reading this fun and amazing sequel!

Book Review: A Growing Masterpiece
Summary: 5 Stars

Inkspell drags you back into the world of Meggie, Mo, Dustfinger, and all our well-known characters in a truely tremendous tale. Fenoglio is now in his story, and in a whirlwind of events Dustfinger, Farid, Meggie, Mo, and Resa land in Inkworld, as Meggie names it. Poor Elinor and Darius are left behind though, with problems of their own.

In this delightfully twisted plot, the characters grow and blossom in such human ways, it shows what a master Cornelia is at her art. The concept of the story is absolutely wonderful and confusing if I were to try and explain, but once you read Inkheart and Inkspell, you'll get it.

This is probably the best non-anticipated sequel that I have ever read. It gives the genre fantasty a whole new meaning, while connecting to the readers with something that every person wants at least once- To just jump in the story and have an adventure of your own.
