Book Reviews of InkspellBook Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I have read many books, and this is one of the best. The ending actually made me cry, which takes a lot. I can't wait for the next book. The whole Maggie and Farid thing was stupid, but all of the parts with Dustfinger (my favorite) were awesome! Buy this book. You won't be sorry!
Book Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
Wow, we had a group reading at my school and we covered both this book and Tucker O'Doyle, these are both spectacular, original books. I'm going to purchase both of them for my collection.
Book Review: Amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
Inkspell is now on the top of my favorite books list. It made me feel so full of joy, then made me cry my eyes out. Cornelia is such a wonderful writer, words can't express how thankful I am to her for this emotional story. Inkheart was great, too, and I can't wait for Inkdawn.
DON'T READ ON IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS!
This was my first book with real romance in it. When I read the end of chapter 30, when Farid kissed Meggie, I was jumping with happiness. (I had been waiting for that moment!) Then when Farid died, I cried and felt just like Meggie. My only problem was that Farid came back too soon. I didn't have enough time to mourn him, because suddenly there he was, with Dustfinger dead beside him. Still, it's the greatest book i ever read. Thank you, Cornelia!
(I'm twelve by the way)
Book Review: An Emotional Journey Summary: 5 Stars
After reading "Inkheart", it is almost impossible for one not to fall in love with the characters. "Inkspell" takes that love to a whole new level, as a great number of sentimental relationships are developed; romance is born in the novel as Farid and Meggie realize their feelings for each other, the family dynamics of Mo, Meggie, and Resa are heartwarming, but the most beautiful and deep relationship is that of Dustfinger and Farid. Farid grows to see Dustfinger as an older brother, a father, and a best friend, while Dustfinger (though he scarcely admits it) loves Farid as much as he loves his wife, and considers him an apprentice, a son (though not by blood), and a best friend as well.
The scenery of the Inkworld is beautifully described, as are it's one of a kind characters. This book opens a whole new realm and a new view into the lives of the new and old characters that are introduced/reintroduced in between its beautiful pages.
Now for the book itself; I've never witnessed cover art so beautiful, and the book itself is very handsome, as if Mo bound it himself. The only problem that I had with the writing of the book is that in the first half, the translation and editing may be a bit sloppy, for there are a few parts that are in no way, shape, or form grammatically correct. While these errors made the book a bit harder to get into, I found myself helplessly swept into the story in no time at all, very much like I had been while reading "Inkheart," though that book is edited considerably better.
The emotion of this story is one of a kind. It lures you in, making you love its characters subtly, without letting you know until the moment that one of them feels pain, for you then feel it yourself. This book, again like its predecessor, is a long journey; while it takes me about three days to finish a Harry Potter novel of this size, it took me three weeks to finish this 635 page book. This is not at all because it is boring, but because the things going on in the plot are so consuming and busy that I feel that it is meant to be taken in doses an then digested over night, so you wake up in the morning wondering what will happen next. While I was looking forward to finding out what happens in the end, I am now sad that I have finished.
This book will make you laugh and most CERTAINLY will make you cry... and by the way, don't read the last page (as so many do) until you've read the rest of the book. Even a small glimpse at it will let you know what happens in the end and may ruin the surprise.
Happy reading!
9 out of 10.
Book Review: An amazing sequel to Inkheart Summary: 5 Stars
I won't give anything away, since this is an amazing book. I'll say it was a great book but I think Cornelia Funke streched it out a bit and kind of ended up making it confusing for some people. She kept switching from character to character and sometimes added unnecssary parts. this did not happen often though, but for those of you who have not read it be aware of that. Still its an amazing book and whoever is a cornelia funke fan you should definitely read inkheart and inkspell.
