The big thing in this book in my opinion, is having brought the subject of the eternal life for vampires as a problem and not as something to be wished. Ann Rice was genial in describing the distress immortality can bring when you're left alone to live it. This is the first book I have read by Anne Rice. I actually had heard that the film was good but I didn't have a chance to see it so I decided to read the book. This book has everthing you want you want in a book. The characters come alive and make you feel apart of their lifes. I really liked the way that Anne Rice writes the story from the Vampire's point of view. I just couldn't put this book down.Book Review: More than horror

It has become a rarity to experience such passion through writing, combined with a deep understanding and depth of characters. I was stunned, and as much in love with every aspect of this book as I hope anyone else who reads it will be.
