Book Review: A Brilliant Textbook for Students - academic, yet readable
Summary: 5 Stars
I found Esposito's Islam, The Straight Path an invaluable textbook on Islam. As a beginner to the subject, I wanted something scholarly enough to give me quotes for essays, yet easy enough to follow and understand. I found many of the authors recommended by my course tutor a bit heavy, with lots of technical and complex terms. In contrast, Esposito carefully explains each term clearly, and proceeds throughout the book at the correct pace, making this, for me, a highly commendable work.
