Book Review: 'Lord of the Flies' for Adults
Summary: 5 Stars
For the record (and the reviewer saying that women won't like this book), I am a woman and I enjoyed this book tremendously. You have to be a horror fan and not get offended by immature sexual perversions - which I do not feel has anything to do with what sex you are. This was my first Richard Laymon book, and years (and 20+ of his books) later it's still my favorite. It has a very unique narrator in this [seemingly] normal boring dude on vacation with his girlfriend's family, who ends up surprising you constantly along the way. It has a 'Lord of the Flies' feel to it, and kept me at the edge of my seat. I flew through this book and always recommend it to anyone who has the same tastes that I do. Again, not for the easily offended, but definitely a fun, campy, psychological thriller with sex & desire at it's core.
