Book Review: The Jazz Guitarist's Bible?

This book is essential for anybody looking for a thorough grounding in the art of jazz guitar. Although the book is specifically aimed at soloing, it covers harmony in such depth as to serve as an enhancement to chordal knowledge, hence making you a far more complete guitarist!This book is brilliantly written, it is very concise and clear and is dosed with a suitable amount of humour. There are many exercises which focus on: fretboard knowledge, soloing over certain chords (everything from basic major/minor chords to the more complex altered chords), soloing over some basic changes (e.g. ii-V-I) as well as sections on decoration and technique.
This book has no TAB, it is purely written in notation, the suggested fingerings are given and are quite readable once you get used to the system. It actually is better without the TAB in my opinion as it forces the less disciplined musician to focus on the actual notes rather than simply the fret numbers of what they are trying to play.
If you study this book you WILL be a better musician for it.
