Book Reviews of Jesus of NazarethBook Review: As a father teaches his children Summary: 5 Stars
Jesus of Nazareth
In language that is readily understood, despite often tackling intricate exegetical issues, the Holy Father shows his loving desire to open the pages of Scripture for his children anxious to have a deeper personal relationship with the historical Jesus. In explaining certain portions of the life of Christ as written in the gospels in the context of the total biblical treasure, Pope Benedict draws upon both Catholic and non-Catholic resources to make Jesus appear in the mind of the reader in the fullness of His Messianic mission. To read this very enjoyable book is to come face to face with the one Person in the history of mankind who matters most in understanding the big questions of life: Who am I? and Where am I going?
Book Review: Awe Inspiring Summary: 5 Stars
Pope Benedict the XVI's reflection on Jesus is nothing short of awe inspiring! His style of writing is very down to earth, almost a grandfatherly way at times especially in the way he poses questions, questions that at times I have heard or thought. He explains difficult material clearly and succinctly so that most people will be able to understand: he does not oversimplify difficult material but cuts to the heart of the matter. You can feel his love for Jesus Christ and for us as readers. It was a very enjoyable read and I cannot wait for his next book - I have it on pre-order!
Book Review: Awesome Book by Holy Father Summary: 5 Stars
Pope Benedict XI's book gives a spiritual lift.
Especially, the chapter on the Lord's Prayer gives a totally new perspective and meaning of Jesus' teaching and guidance for us about how we can get close to him.
Every Catholic should read this book.
Book Review: B16 does it again! Summary: 5 Stars
How cool to have a Pope who is also one of the world's greatest theologians! His presentation of Jesus Christ is both scholarly and spiritual. Not an easy read, but well worth the trouble.
Book Review: Beautiful & Enriching Summary: 5 Stars
Definitely makes you think. I've never looked at things the way they are described in this book. You're left up to decide for yourself after the presentation of good and bad theories. I highly recommend this book regardless of your flavor of Christianity today.
