Book Review: "all you need is love"... and a good lawyer & psychiatrist

Girl meets boy in college, girl marries boy & has a baby. Boy becomes rock & roll superstar, dives into drugs and ...well, you know how this story goes
Cynthia's memories of John are sincere & sweet, she only gets bitter once the Yoko & divorce business starts up [and even then, its written with the least poison-spitting possible]
John is one mental, abusive, constant attention demanding son-of-a-bitch: nowadays you'd see this relationship and tell the girl to run! ... but Cyn was in love and this was back when a girl was to marry & keep her family happy come hell or high water. She loved him truly and deeply & like a trooper she tried to keep it together for them.
She did her best to be a good wife and mother, putting up with his fame, hordes of fans and his never being around for Julian. In her naivete she believed many of his songs' lyrics were dedicating his love for her [the text mentions "All my Loving", which is a Paul song. But for all we know, John could have just twisted the truth a tad for his bride that time. Wouldn't be the first] The good girl from Hoylake even trusts that her husband out on countless concert tours never cheats on her...
The divorce chapters are sickening. How could a man advocating "peace and love" do what he did to his own family??
Her recount of events put a new perspective on his early years. She drops a few names here and there, but keeps it light and airy. There are a few wonderful family photos as well (John with baby-Julian is sooo sweet! Where did that loving father from the photo vanish to?)
Overall, a great read! Seriously!
