John Paul Jones never received his due in history until long after his death. Captain John Paul Jones was an important, brave, and daring sea warrior who help our Country gain its freedom. His body rests in a fitting place--a beautiful tomb at the US Naval Academy. Now Historian Evan Thomas does our Country a large service by delivering a fitting history of this hero.
Thomas delivers a honest and balanced history of Jones that is extremely well-written and peppered with thoughtful analysis that captures the spirit and soul of this naval leader. John Paul Jones was a flawed hero and Thomas does a good job of showing both the shortcomings and the strengths of Jones. All historians should write with the integrity that author Evan Thomas demonstrates in this book.
Bravo! This is a super five star read.
