Book Review: deceptive marketing

This book is marketed as a "Collector's Edition" of the original 1961 George Hinke classic, one of the most charmingly illustrated books ever published for children. It was read to me as a child. I was thrilled to discover it on Amazon, but deeply disappointed when the two hard back copies I ordered arrived. The text has been altered significantly (we don't forget what we read as children, and I have an older copy with a closer-to-original text). And some of George Hinke's illustrations have been eliminated, or are reduced in size, not to mention being washed out which has taken the richness and magic out of the paintings. This patched-together edition is NOT the original book. Corners were cut with the size of the illustrations to save money, the hallmark of so many current products. How stupid do they think we are? I wish I'd read the customer reviews of this book before purchase. The people like me, who knew this book as children, all have the same complaints.
