Book Review: Top-notch Beginning Reading Instruction CD-Rom
Summary: 5 Stars
This CD-Rom is pricey, but it is worth many other CD-Roms put together. This is phonics at its best: synthetic phonics, which not only teaches letter-sound correspondences, but also how to blend those sounds when reading. The games provide FUN practice of the "basic code" of written English, as well as alternate spellings of many of the vowel sounds (e.g. ai/ay/a-e). On a less important note, the graphics are very appealing.
