I've heard the raves about this book since I was a young woman & it first came out. So, when I happened upon it at a close-out sale, I bought it.
I'm glad I didn't pay much for it.
Maybe I am too old to appreciate the 'inspiration' that it is meant to provoke. I think I learned the lessons it teaches a long time ago - from my parents & in church. 'Life is to be lived, and since we are all in this together, we should try our best to make the world a better place'.
Frankly, after reading, I wondered what the fuss is about. Yes, I caught what could be subtle inferences to spirituality, but I got a lot more out of other books I've read. But it's basically just a nice story about a bird. If inspiration & spiritual growth are your objectives, I recommend "The Greatest Salesman in the World". Another quick read, but much more substance than JLS.
