Book Reviews of Judge & JuryBook Review: Judge & Jury Summary: 5 Stars
I was very pleased with the quality of the book. It was in excellent condition.
Book Review: Laughable Summary: 1 Stars
I feel sorry for Mr. Patterson, but I've never seen such a poorly written book, full of clichee: the tough FBI agent, the attractive woman that falls in love with him, the evil mafioso.
Nothing new in this book. Nothing. So, why did Mr. Patterson write it? Please excuse me, but quantity never makes out for quality.
Book Review: Loved this book-Judge & Jury Summary: 5 Stars
I heard about this book from a gal walking the treadmill next to me in my gym. She raved and said she could not put the book down.
So I ordered it and found the same feeling. Could not wait to see what was going to happen next. In the beginning of the book the main character is chasing the villan. The man is caught and now there is so much that happens with a Juror at the trial.
I do not want to give away anything. It really, really is a page turner.
I have now sent the book on to a friend in another state and she called to say that she could not wait to see
what will happen in each chapter. Great fun read.
Book Review: Middle of the road beach read. Summary: 3 Stars
Here I am again reviewing a mediocre James Patterson book. I keep saying I am going to stop but I can't help myself. I know this man is a talented writer, I think the problem though is over production. This one gets off to a slow start which did not help to put me in a good mood (whatever you think about Patterson he is usually good at grabbing you early!). Special agent Nick Pellisante has finally captured Mob boss Dominic Cavello.--who for years seemed untouchable. Cavello had a ruthless career as a crime boss and plenty of his henchmen are ready to turn states evidence. Then Cavello hires the assassin Nordeshenko who efficiently wipes out witness after witness until the trail cannot go forward. This is where the book really shows some spark, and started to grab my interest. A retrial is scheduled but Cavello and Nordeshenko have even more brutal retributions planed, and it is up to Pellisante see that this time around Cavello is convicted. I did like the characters in this one, the bad guys are especially evil, but there are some big holes in the plot (that probably wont bother the typical Patterson reader who just wants a turn of your brain beach read) that could have been filled with a little more polish, but there is no time for polish when you publish a book every two months.
Book Review: Neither an interesting courtroom drama nor an action packet mystery thriller Summary: 2 Stars
*** This review contains spoilers ***
With Patterson it's either hit or miss. This one is a miss.
The story revolves around an FBI agent, a juror, a mafia don on trial and a whole lot of bad writing. I tried to get into the story, but it was neither an interesting courtroom drama (like Grisham's) nor an action packet mystery thriller like some of Harlan Coben's stories.
While the FBI agent is desperately trying to see a convicted don, he indirectly becomes the reason for the death of juror number 9's young son. Time moves forward and as expected, the FBI agent falls in love with the juror, the mobster escapes bail and we are left with a grueling read (chapter 40 through 110) to find out where he's hiding and how the agent and the mother will get their vengeance.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Instead, read some of Grisham's books...ANY of Ghrisham's books.
