Book Reviews of Kids Are Americans TooBook Review: What About Shawn Hornbeck? Summary: 1 StarsI was hoping the book would contain an apology to Shawn Hornbeck, the young Missouri boy who had been kidnapped and subjected to the most hideous abuse. When O'Reilly last opined on the subject with Greta Van Susteren last January he said that, in his opinion, since the boy didn't have to go to school and got to play video games he actually enjoyed his time in captivity. Since these hurtful, outrageous remarks, O'Reilly has remained silent rather then own up to his ignorant remarks. I guess he gives himself a pass when it comes to how he treats American kids.
Book Review: Go Bill! Summary: 4 StarsGo Bill! Although I do not regularly watch the O'Reilly Factor, and am not always in agreement with Bill, this book rocks! It is a MUST READ for all kids ages 11-17, and for many adults! We must take back this country from those who would (and are actively trying to) bring it to ruin! Come on, young people, you're Americans too! I will be buying multiple copies for my niece, nephew, and any other young person on my gift list! What better gift than a free nation!
Book Review: Do Not Read This Book, Do Not Give it to Children Summary: 1 StarsThis is one of the worst books I have ever read. This conclusion has little to do with O'Reilly's views; he actually does an admirable job of keeping his views out of the limelight as he attempts to explain the legal rights and obligations of American children. Unfortunately, O'Reilly garbles and/or misrepresents nearly every legal question he examines. This book will, on balance, LESSEN one's understanding of constitutional rights and the legal system because of the wealth of misinformation it contains.
There are a few unobjectionable bromides about the importance of compromise, the value of hard work, and not "sweating the small stuff." Alas, these bits of advice (as well as the flawed legal analysis) are delivered in an insufferable, trying-way-too-hard-to-be-hip format that is as condescending as it is confusing.
Book Review: Surprisingly Good Summary: 5 StarsI have to admit, this is much better than I thought it would be. Good job, O'Reilly. And kudos for writing your own books. I'm fed up with all these celebrities hiring "ghost writers" to write their books for them. How pathetic. If you have something to say and you are going to write a book, write it yourself.

Book Review: Cha-ching! Summary: 1 StarsThis thin (in every sense of the word) volume offers little or nothing for kids. If he had any shame, O'Reilly would be embarrassed by the wide margins, few pages, and enhanced spacing in this "book."
But his audience will buy it because he tells them to...
O'Reilly purports to tell kids about their rights, but gets easily verifiable facts wrong. He preaches against "secret" legal settlements when he himself secretly settled a sexual harassment suit for seven figures. These and other problems with O'Reilly's hypocritical and self-promoting book are documented in a review published in the Washington Post.
Finally...How much does O'Reilly really care about kids? Two words: Shawn Hornbeck.
