Book Reviews of King Arthur Flour Whole Grain Baking: Delicious Recipes Using Nutritious Whole Grains (King Arthur Flour Cookbooks)Book Review: Cookbook, where have you been all my life?? Summary: 5 Stars
Just received this book and immediately tried the Blueberry Buckle recipe. Oh my goodness, it's even better than the ol' tried-and-true recipe I've been using for years. Simply delicious. I even substituted Splenda for most of the white sugar. I've tried replacing white flour with whole wheat in my baking recipes and could never get good end results. Now, with this cookbook I won't have to struggle anymore. All the recipes look yummy. I can't wait for the cool weather so I can start baking up a storm! Thank you King Arthur.
Book Review: Delicious Whole Grain Baking Summary: 5 Stars
This book is must have for anyone who is doing whole grain baking. This book covers just about every type of whole grain baking, from sweet to savory, yeast to regular, cookies to bread, breakfast to dessert. The book is organized by the type of baking you're doing, so for example, all sweet yeast breads are together, but there is also a very thorough index in the back of the book so if you're looking for a recipe using a particular ingredient, it's easy to find all of the recipes with that ingredient. Each section of the book has a few introductory pages that explain basic techniques for the type of baking and helpful hints. There are additional helpful hints with the recipes, as well as suggested substitutions for ingredients and variations to the recipe.
All of the recipes I've tried from this book have been fantastic, and in several cases we've thought they were better than their non-whole grain counterparts. Most of the recipes are simple, and use regualar grocery store ingredients. But be warned, if you're someone who wants a photo with every recipe, this is not a book for you. There are a few photos, but really this book is about the recipes, and the mechanics of baking with whole grains.
Overall, this is a fantastic, comprehensive book for someone who wants to integrate whole grains into their everyday baking.

The recipes in this book are excellent. We especially love the muffins and coffee cake. There is something in it for everyone, simple recipes and more challenging ones. I highly recommend it.
Book Review: Delicious and Healthy Summary: 5 Stars
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants their family to eat healthy snacks. Just don't tell them what they are eating and they will never know. The cookies and muffins are delicious.
Book Review: Delicious and fun Summary: 5 Stars
I've tried quite a few recipes in this book, and all have been delicious. It's true that you have to do a little shopping ahead of time, and stock up on some of the flours they specify. But once you've done that, each recipe is an adventure and they are extremely tasty. I'm fairly health conscious and this is not a low-fat cookbook by any means, so I sometimes cut the fat and sugar a bit from what is specified. This book definitely helps you include more and varied whole grains in your diet.
