Book Review: When your friends and family have received enough
Summary: 5 Stars
What a great way to channel your knitting energies. I love this book. If you're like me, and you have graced your friends and family with more than enough of your knitting projects, you have probably felt like you would like to see your efforts put to more worthy causes (no offense to my friends and family!). This book will is loaded with tons of ideas to help you do just that.
Things I particularly like about this book:
1. The author has clearly done her homework, providing an abundance of opportunities to send off your goods to whatever contribution strikes a chord with you - whether it is children, animals, or soldiers at war.
2. Non-threatening patterns, which makes it easy for the beginner to intermediate knitter to jump right in.
3. Inspirational. For those of us who feel no sense of loss when your child loses the mittens you knitted for him because you understand the opportunity created for another child (if your school - like ours - sends lost and found items to the local goodwill), this book will embolden you to knit something for the simple sake of doing good.
4. The projects represent beautiful knitted objects. You will not feel inspired to use up the old periwinkle acrylic yarn you got from your mom in 1982. The projects pass the 'would I use/wear this myself?' criterion. The book is visually appealing and serves as a satisfying source of patterns in its own right.
