The character delineation is of the highest order. The participants
in this drama leap out of the page with a totally believable clarity.
You really want to meet them - well, the good ones, anyway.

The construction of the book is well near perfect and the ease of the
read belies the huge amount of effort that must have been exercised
to achieve it. Furthermore the ease with which the story flows
between two time frames, 800 years apart, is quite an achievement in
itself. So many books using this construct fail in this vital area of
narrative, so frustrating readers by frequently causing them to refer
back to re-connect with the previous storyline, whenever there is a
timeshift. This does not happen once in Labyrinth. You always know
exactly where the author is taking the storyline as it unravels.

Labyrinth is the most intelligent novel the reviewer has read in a
very long time. A classic of its kind. Don't miss it.
