Book Review: A Story For All Ages Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book because I am a HUGE M. Night fan! I did read these reviews before I purchased the book so I knew what I was buying. But I did know it was going to be good no matter what. I love this story! I will never see a swimming pool the same, or my backyard! Great for the kids and adults! It has a great fantasy move to it, but keeping it almost real too. I'm going to read this every night until the release of his movie! This is why M. Night is my hero!!!
Book Review: A book that will raise questions in its readers' minds Summary: 1 Stars
The unanswerable question at the heart of this book that will nag the reader long after he or she sets it aside will be that of how its cruelly ill-equipped author could ever have imagined himself capable of entertaining an audience. Fresh from such misbegotten and definitively third-rate reels of swollen twaddle as "The Village" and "Signs", Mr. Shyamalan here brings his considerable talent for next to nothing to the field of children's literature, where it lands with a small squeaky children's-book thud that echoes the expensive, mechanized thuds of its cinematic siblings. I look forward to half-amusing reruns on cable of the pompous cinematic adaptation of this defective little indulgence of an utterly mediocre bore of an author.
Book Review: A little mysterious...but a good book Summary: 3 Stars
I was very anxious to read this book because I thought that it would be too frightening for children, especially because it is a "bedtime story." After reading it, I realized that it teaches children a very good lesson. M. Night Shyamalan makes children think that if they see the creature that he talks about in this book, they will set her free to go back to where she came from. This makes children think that if they see this lady in the water, they will be doing something good for someone else. That is the reason why I think this is a good book for children, because M. Night Shyamalan makes children think about doing a favor for someone. After reading this story, children will want to help someone else out and they will be excited to do it. This book teaches children a good lesson, but I would just have to say that the illustrations and the idea might be a little bit too scary for the younger ones. The illustrations are great as well and add to the mystery in the story. As long as someone is reading this to a child that is not too young, I think this is a good book with an important lesson.
Book Review: A unique read. Summary: 5 Stars
I really liked this book. M Night has a great way of pulling readers in without going overboard.
