Book Reviews of Lady in the Water: A Bedtime StoryBook Review: Fantabulous book. Summary: 5 Stars
I have long been a fan of M. Night Shyamalan. What a wonderful talent, artistic and business. His latest creative endeavor Lady in the Water is a terrific children's book. I purchased two copies for the public library and one for my granddaughter.
Lady in the lake has above average illustrations by Crash McCreery. The story is engaging and moves along. Gradually new characters are introduced throughout the story and each adds an increased bit of drama. Just slightly dark, the story is hopeful and enlightening.
This is sure to be a big hit with children.
Book Review: Fears overcome. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this book for my 8 year old son's birthday before finding out that he didn't want to see the movie because the trailer looked scary. After reading it with him he announced that he wasn't scarred any more because he was comforted knowing that the monster (scrunt) wasn't really that scarry. The book is now one of his treasures. He liked the artwork and thinking about what he might do one day.
Book Review: Good Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this because I love Night, and had been waiting months for this to come out. At first I was surprised at how big the book was, but the story is well-written. It has a poetic feel and the drawings are interesting to look at, even though they're not on every page.
Book Review: Good for older children Summary: 4 Stars
I have a niece and nephew that are 3 and 5 years old. This book was a little scary for the young one and a little deep for the 5 year old. It kinda felt like there was too much information squeezed into a short story and really needed to be expanded on. I guess thats why a movie was made. Loved the movie but thought it was a bit too much for the kids, thats why I bought the book but it really just confused them. Would be great for a kid around 7 or so I'm sure.
Book Review: I love this little book Summary: 5 Stars
I've bought the book and it is great...I love it and it will go on the bookshelf with my other beloved books...I read it first to my niece on the way home from BAM while my sister was driving and once before I went to sleep that night...I was kinda of surprised that it was not a longer story...But, It is what it is...A Bedtime Story...If you like this Author you will love this book as much as me... ... Sweet Dreams....
