Book Reviews of Lady in the Water: A Bedtime StoryBook Review: Not really for children Summary: 2 Stars
I'm sorry, I like MNS, but this book is NOT for young children. In fact, it's so creepy I kind of felt a little nervous after reading it myself. I understand the message, but I think that it may be lost to young children who will most certainly remember the Scrunt hiding in the grass the next time they play outside. All I can say is Mr. S should stick to making movies and leave the storybook writing to the pro's!
Book Review: Original & Wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
A truly original and wonderful children's story. It's the first one in a long time I've read that I didn't guess the entire plot and how it develops within the first couple of pages.
Book Review: Really a let down! Summary: 1 Stars
Not what I or my boys expected at all. It did not flow well or make sense. I thought it would be more of a story with a plot and such. It really did not seem to even have a real plot and story line. It was very confusing and my kids are 8 and 9. They were really looking forward to getting this and were totally let down. Will give to the library.
Book Review: Review for Lady in the Water: Book Summary: 3 Stars
This book is really amazing. But I think I would have liked it more if I would have read it first compared to watching the movie first. It also could have elaborated on the story more. But I also don't regret buying it.
Book Review: SSSOkay Summary: 3 Stars
Since I'm not a child and our own child is in mid-30's, I'll have to stay middle on this rating. It is OK, I think, but if/when a parent attempts to read this story to a child, there is a need for "fill"... so the parent will need to be adequate story teller and not just a reader, depending upon the book to do the parental work. In that setting, I rate it 5 stars, but in the real world, where parents desire more help, it's a 3.
