Book Reviews of Leap Day

Book Review: Leap For It!
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in Orlando where this book takes place and it was so fun to read about my town (even though it was a fictional version of my town, believe me, my high school doesn't have a taco bell but it would be really cool if it did!). Anyway, I loved this book and didn't want it to end. My favorite parts were when she was taking her drivers test, the scavenger hunt at DisneyWorld, and the scene at the lake. The book really showed that people's real reasons for acting certain ways can be so different from what we think they are. My new fave book!

Book Review: Leap ahead!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was my first experience with Wendy Mass' work. I couldn't put the book down and read it almost completely straight through.
The book is so creative by showing not only the thoughts and emotions of the main character, but all the people the main character interacts with.
The story is honest, humourous and touching. A must read for any young adult.

Book Review: Leap day!!!!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

In the book leap day by Wendy Mass the main character is Josie Taylor. Leap day the title, goes along with the book because Josie is born on leap day, February 29. So it is only her forth birthday when she is actually turning 16 years old. In this book there are many conflicts that arise in this book one of the conflicts is Josie and taking her driver licenses test. Another conflict is she is trying out for the play the role is Juliet and her crush is trying out for the same play. She has three close friends Katy, Zoey, Megan. She thinks that her friend Megan is hiding some big secret from her. Meanwhile all this is happening Josie's friends are planning a sweet sixteen party for her at the lake.
I really enjoyed reading this book! This book is very interesting to read because it gives all the view points on the characters not just Josie's view point. At some parts of the book it is kind of boring but most of the story it pull's you into the story and made you think and read more of it. I recommended the book leap day to everyone I just think it is a fabulous book and everyone should read it!

Book Review: One Giant Leap for Mass
Summary: 5 Stars

Did you enjoy the end of February? There is a very insightful book called "Leap Day" by Wendy Mass that was released in anticipation of this February's special day.

The main character who was born on Leap Year. The book takes place in 24 hours on her 16th - technically her 4th - birthday. Each chapter has two portions: the first part in first person from her point of view, and the second part in third person from every other character's point of view.

This teen novel is very cute and very smart. It shows the reader that what you think about someone else may not be well founded and what you assume to be true is not always so. All in all, well worth the read. I recommend it.

Book Review: Other People's Stories
Summary: 4 Stars

Haven't you always wanted to read a book where you get to find out what everyone else is really thinking about? Oh, come on. I have.
And it pays off well. I don't think there was enough of it in this book though. All of the other characters get a small little section at the end of one or two chapters-the more central characters (best friends of Josie, the Leap Day Birthday girl) get one almost every chapter. But I still wished there was a little more.
I found Josie to be kind of boring, unimaginative, and having very few thoughts of her own. All the content was in all the other people's small paragraphs.
I really liked the book, though. It was fun, and had lots of secrets and stuff that you find out as you go along.
I really got attached to a few of the characters, too.
I can see myself reading it again because I would already know what the secrets were, and could go "ha ha! I have vanquished this book"
Never mind that.
The point is, this book is about as good as you'd expect it to be, which is: Pretty Good.
Read it, you wont regret it.
