Book Reviews of Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your LifeBook Review: Clay's voice Summary: 5 StarsAfter listening to the CD "Learning to Sing," I felt much closer to Clay. I knew he had a hard time growing up. However he did not let it get to him and it made him stronger. He is very inspirational and quite funny.
Book Review: A no-holds barred look at Clay Aiken's life through his own eyes Summary: 5 StarsCan't say enough about this book - couldn't put it down from the moment I opened it. Aiken and Glock have done an outstanding job. The detail, colorful language and charming wit make for a very enjoyable read.
This book will be treasured by fans of Aiken, but will be well received by those who are not fans as well.
Book Review: The Sexiest Man Alive Summary: 5 StarsOk I admit it. Clay Aiken is the sexiest man alive. I loved him since the first time I saw him, the way his hair strays about his head like a dyslexic porcupine, the way he speaks softly like the ambigious King of Pop. I love to cuddle up by the fire and listen to his Christmas cd. I only wish he would cover Paul McCartney's or Wham!'s Christmas songs.
This book is so inspirational, it makes me want to sing. I know I can sing better than Yoko Ono, so there is no reason not to sing. But I recognize that I might have to marry a record producer or suppress my latent tendencies if this is to become a reality. I mean, come on! Clay's done at least one of those things. Even if Fantasia sat on him and crushed his skinny little body, I would still love him.
Book Review: I've Read It Over & Over! Summary: 5 StarsClay's book mirrors him. Smarty, witty, funny, sweet, talented--beautiful inside and out. I can't say enough about this book or about the man himself. I read it in one sitting, I just couldn't stop. And I find that I go back and re-read portions of it just for the pure enjoyment of his words. It's Clay through and through. You'll enjoy it, for sure! I makes a great Christmas gift. That and his Christmas CD. I gave them out last Christmas and made a whole new legion of fans.
Book Review: Touching and Inspiring Summary: 5 StarsI will never forget this book. Clay's sweet, funny, uplifting words make "Learning to Sing" so much more than the run-of-the mill celebrity memoir. The book gave me new respect for this remarkable man from Raleigh,North Carolina. His prose speaks to anyone who has ever felt like a geek, or an outsider. This is one of those books that the reader will want to read over and over again. It is an incredible book.
