Book Reviews of Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your LifeBook Review: Good message for the young'uns, not great literature Summary: 3 StarsI am a huge Clay Aiken fan, I'll admit. I own his CD's and have followed his career closely along with the throng of his loyal Claymate fans nationwide. I read this book in support of Clay, who he is, and what he stands for. There is a good message in this book for teens, and the book can be considered an important read for the younger crowd (middle and high school). Having said that, people should realize that this is no literary masterpiece. It is certainly an easy read, it provides some detail on Clay Aiken the person for fans, and it offers a positive perspective for youngsters struggling with growing up. I give it a solid three stars, because I think it could have been more compelling. As much as Clay reveals in this book, I felt throughout that he was still holding back and that the book could have been better written. I do recommend it to fans and youngsters.

Book Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 StarsThis is an awesome book! I could barely put it down once I started. I wish it didn't end and I wish he would write another. Better yet, I think they should make a movie about his life although I'm sure there is a lot more to come.
Book Review: Full of surprises! Summary: 5 StarsClay's book was so much more than I ever expected. Several subjects that had been lightly mentioned in interviws, were expanded and were found to be surprising and heartwarming. Case in point, we all know he gave his brother Brett a new car Christmas 2003. But, no mention before this book about how Clay's stepfather had bought another car with Brett in mind as the eventual owner when he, Clay's stepfather, died. After his death, the car had to be given up as the family could not afford the upkeep. Clay loved his brother so much that he replaced that car as nearly as he could, with some of the first money he earned through his recording contract.
