Book Reviews of Letters from a NutBook Review: Not original, but funny Summary: 4 StarsLet's put it this way--if the author IS Jerry Seinfeld, it's pretty pathetic. This has been done SO MANY TIMES BEFORE--by Don Novello (THE LASZLO LETTERS), that Paul Dunn guy (IDIOT LETTERS) and, yes, The legendary Jerky Boys. If it is you, Jerry--how MUCH money do you need, anyway? If it isn't, then--okay, there's some funny s**t in here, but you can hardly claim credit for the idea, "Ted." Oh, well--maybe no one cares who thought up the notion of wasting other people's time--as long as it's funny. And for the most part, LETTERS FROM A NUT is that. Although I can't really picture Jerry Seinfeld "laughing out loud" as he claims he did when he first read these letters...unless he really did write them...
Book Review: Jerry Seinfeld is Ted L. Nancy Summary: 3 StarsJerry Seinfeld is obviously the author! Every letter displays his unique sense of humour. His "story" in the introduction about "finding" the letters at a party is ludicrous! Anyway, I found the book to be quite entertaining, although many letters were somewhat boring. Often, however, a letter would come that would knock your socks off! A good example of that would be the one about his costume on the bus (I won't say more). In any case, it's a fun read.
Book Review: I have an autographed copy of "Drop Us A Line, Sucker!" Summary: 5 StarsLoved "Letters From a Nut" -- Gave it as a gift to my friends -- Laughed until I cried -- I have nothing bad to say about it. As for the autographed copy of "D.U.A.L.S.," the authors are from Indiana and my copy was signed (by both of them) at a Barnes and Noble in South Bend. Cool!
Book Review: What a Fun Read! Summary: 5 Stars"Letters From a Nut," though hilarious, are written with just enough of a straight tone so as to be taken seriously. (God knows, there are enough real "nuts" out there capable of such quirky eccentricities). The letters, and the responses to them, are great fun to read. As for Ted L. Nancy, I think he's simply a very clever, imaginative comic with the kind of twisted comedic bent I enjoy most. I've spread the word about this thoroughly entertaining book...my sister and a couple of friends have bought and enjoyed it, too. I'll look foward to the sequel that I hope will follow. Mr. Nancy, I think you're terrific!
Book Review: I laughed so hard my face hurt! Summary: 5 StarsThis book caught my eye because it mentioned Jerry Seinfeld on the cover. After reading it I now will recognize his name not just Jerrys...This man is truly a nut. i like nutty people and will anxiously await the release of his next letters from a nut book.
