Book Reviews of Library Lion

Book Review: Library Lion...
Summary: 5 Stars

Got the idea to get this book from the New York Times best seller list (Childrens books) my great-niece loved the story even though I did purchase it for her little brother.

Book Review: Love It! Sweet, Tender and Charming
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this picture book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is tender, touching and sweet.

It's about a lion who visits the library and at first makes people nervous and nearly gets thrown out for roaring. But he returns the next day and behaves and everyone enjoys having him around, except for Mr. McBee. The Lion shows up everyday but eventually breaks a rule and even though it's with good reason, he feels he must leave the library, rules are rules after all. Surprisingly it's Mr. McBee who finds Lion and tells him that sometimes, if you have a very good reason, it is alright to break the rules.

I know it's really silly but this book gets me every time.
A beautiful book to share with your children, my kids love this one and so do I.

Book Review: Love this Library Lion!
Summary: 5 Stars

Your young child will love this book, as will you. The illustrations are gorgeous and evocative - the prose is gentle without being trite or too "babyish," yet my three-year-old understands everything perfectly and considers this her favorite book. The moral is present without being preachy, and the characters are lovingly developed. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It's a perfect gift to a child to foster a love of reading and rule minding except in the event of an "emergency, like helping a friend who is hurt."

Book Review: My kids love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

Michelle Knudsen's Library Lion is the new favorite of my three children (4, 6, 7). I have read this book out loud THREE times in the past week; they like it better every time! I'm starting to know it by heart. The illustrations are remarkable, and the story has a classic feel--warm and sweet. Makes me remember my own childhood when my father used to read to me.

Book Review: New Children's C;assic
Summary: 5 Stars

Library Lion is a wonderful story for children and adults. It reminds us that rules are important in society, and at the same time, reminds us that sometimes they must be broken. Kevin Hawkes' illustrations are just fantastic, as always.
