C. C. Cowan brings his characters to life and makes you feel as if you're walking through their most private and intimate feelings- you feel their pain, you share their joy.
Life: Through My Eyes is a combination of short stories with characters so real you'll feel as if you're part of the plot. Abuse, love, passion, sex, money, greed, with an excellent twist of humor, each of these stores has the potential to be a great novel.
And that is exactly what you'll be hoping when you realize you've reached the end.
Many include the pain of abandonment, racism, abuse, and loneliness. Sorrowful, seeking belonging and love, the stories and poems share the most intimate feelings of several, but some how similar, characters.
It's simply, touching.
The writer has a style that makes you want the story to go on and I hope that one day Cowan's characters such as Jack and Lanie reappear. Big city greed, dysfunctional lives and zaney lives would be interesting to read more of. And yet somehow as you read you can't help but wonder if the characters are-the author.
I would recommend this book, it's a good read with a different twist.
I truly hope to see more of Heirs To Deception.
