Book Review: great for toddlers
Summary: 5 Stars

This is such a great book for toddlers! We found it in the library, and have constantly renewed it since we got it. Our girls love trying out the poses. I would guess that they were about 2 years and 3 months when they really became able to do the poses. The pictures are really cute, and the book is adorable.

Book Review: Great fun for little ones!
Summary: 5 Stars

My 18-month old loves this book. Every morning she opens it and does the postures without any prompting from me. The illustrations are fabulous, as well as the photographs of actual toddlers practicing yoga. I've used the book as a springboard to discuss all sorts of topics .... especially temper tantrums. When my daughter is upset, I tell her to "breath like a lion" to get her breathing and more importantly calm. I've practiced yoga for well over ten years and was hoping to introduce my daughter at some point. Little Yoga: A Toddler's First Book of Yoga enabled me to do so much earlier than I thought possible.

Book Review: Yoga Animals
Summary: 4 Stars

Monkeys, lions, and yoga--what a wonderful combination! Little Yoga is a fun collection of basic poses demonstrated by animals such as monkeys, lions and dogs. The illustrations are adorable with great baby appeal. The back of the book has advice for parents and grandparents along with pictures of children demonstrating the poses. The sequence of poses could have more of a natural flow, but we just skip around to different pages. My granddaughter and I started yoga classes together over a year ago and we both enjoy this book, but I also think this book would make a wonderful gift for yoga newbies. Overall, it's a great first yoga book!

Book Review: simple and cute intro for the littlest yogis
Summary: 4 Stars

Cute and very simple book. From a yoga teacher's perspective, the progression of poses could have been presented in a different order to allow for a smoother flow. But my toddler doesn't seem to mind standing up, than getting on the ground, than getting back up again, and then getting back on the ground again. (as a tired old mommy might!)
