Book Review: Great place to start!
Summary: 5 Stars

Whether you are just curious about raw food or ready to jump in to the raw food world, Alissa's book is a great place to start! It's inspiring, motivating, educational and practical. I "devoured" the first part of the book on a long flight - and could hardly wait to try some recipes. I've found some great new favorites! The "Mock Salmon Pate" is quick and easy and has been frequently requested by some of my "non-raw" friends! I found the quick reference charts to be extremely helpful as I started my raw food journey. Alissa makes the transition to live foods easy and do-able!

Book Review: Great read for the beginning raw foodist! Lots of yummy recipes.
Summary: 5 Stars

I just wanted to say I loved Alissa's book and companion DVD. Her enthusiasm jumps off the pages and that's exactly what I need right now as I'm just embarking on a raw food diet. Kudos Alissa!

Book Review: Great recipes and lots of them!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love that this book has a ton of recipes and plenty of them don't require extra equipment like a dehydrator. As far as facts and figures to show why eating raw is better I prefer my Timothy Brantley book. I like that it has lots of testimonials. Reading through them I was able to see certain things in other people that I see in myself and could adjust my diet through what they learned. This book is also great if you're looking for a specific plan and grocery list to get you started. Alissa actually has your first four weeks mapped out complete with recipes and grocery lists for each week. Over all, it's a great book and I'm glad I bought it. I refer to it often and use a lot of the recipes. The dessert recipes are awesome!

Book Review: Great way to start Raw
Summary: 5 Stars

This was one of the first books I got when I started going raw about a month ago (by the way, I have lost close to 15 lbs since going raw, and I haven't even had time to do much exercising yet). The other book had gourmet recipes, but what I love about this book is that it has a lot of basic information. There is a sprouting guide and lots of info on how to eat raw. There are also a lot of basic recipes - cheeses, breads, crackers, even whipped cream - that can help you transition. I have only tried a few recipes in the book, but so far, they have been great (I love the chocolate turtles). The only negative I have found so far is that the recipes don't give the number of servings, and since it is always best to eat it right away, it would be nice to know if it needs to be split before making it.

Book Review: Great, but hold off on the plastic dehydrator
Summary: 5 Stars

I am reading and digesting what is involved in this straightforward book. Wonderful style of writing.
My only suggestion would be lean toward stainless steel appliances not plastic. I am weaning plastics out of my life because they are just not safe or healthy. Do your own research on leeching of chemicals.
Otherwise, I love the book, the recipes are easy. Can't wait to get a stainless steel dehydrator! :-)
Eat well and be safe.
