Book Review: Reference but not the main source

I have written a previous preview about this book, and it wasn't good. I read the book once I decided to go to Barcelona for a vacation and boy oh boy, I was lost. Too much information. It was very condense, specially for a first time traveler. The language used in writing the book was a bit of a show off. Sometimes, I had to use a dictionary to know what he is talking about, and I am native speaker!! Anyway, I went and bought Eye Witness Barcelona, and I loved it. It was easy to read, and has a lot pf photos, which helps you decided where to go, and what really need to be seen.
However, After getting a general idea from EW, I went back to Lonely planet, then I started to appreciate it a little bit more. Its info is up to date ( however, it does provide website so you can check if there are any changes. That was October 08 copy). Also it has way more options when it comes to restaurants, bars and cafes. Think of it as a reference but not the main source before you plan your trip to Barcelona.
However, the pull out map included is superb. Believe me, I do a lot of research before I travel, and any other map was only second to this one.
