I'm not sure that a series of essays is the best way to show case this author. Spread out week after week in the NY Times is one thing, but one after anotehr they came across as repetative and predictible. The only part I enjoyed was from his diary. Yes, he has some good ideas on why people can't solve problems in the Middle East (closed education, closed jouralism, poverty, etc) but it is too much of the same thing. i will say this: Smart guy!
