Book Review: Quality!!!.

I pre ordered this book after reading and loving the first two in the series. I received this book and with in 24 hours had read it all. The only thing I found disapointing is that I will have to wait about another year for the next one.
The book is mainly set in Dark Age North East England and the power struggles between the rival Saxon and Viking Lords and Kings to rule the Kingdom of Northumbria. It is a well written and fast paced story told by the Character Lord Uttred of Babenburgh (now the beautiful Bamburgh) and decribes his involvment in Battles, Bloodfeuds and the brutal politics of the time.
Cornwell's desciptions of Characters, battles, places and people are excellent and truely bring the blood, guts, horror and humor of the Dark Age Saxons and Danes to life. A definite must for all historical fiction fans.
