Book Reviews of Loser

Book Review: A Great Book
Summary: 4 Stars

This book is a great book for all ages. After the first 10 chapters, things became confusing but everything before that is great. If you are wondering about the story, it is about a kid named Donald Zincolf. He is always confused and and trying to fit in. He is confident in everythting he does. This is a book you will not be able to put down.

Book Review: A Great Book
Summary: 4 Stars

We are reading this book currently in my classroom. I enjoyed the book for 2 reasons. Number one, awesome writer's craft, and number 2, it's just addicting. It really is a book that steals the reader's attention and locks it up in its pages. I also read it last year, twice. I recommend this book to any reader.

Book Review: A Great Lit Circle Book DN
Summary: 4 Stars

Loser is a book about a boy named Donald Zinkoff and his experiences in school. (1st-6th grade) Zinkoff is a normal kid and likes school, has sloppy hand writing and has fears of a furnace monster. He was born with an upside down valve in his stomach which causes him to barf a little while after he eats. Zinkoff has a knack for losing he just can't seem to win. When he loses the kids at school call him names like "Loser".
This book is great because it's like you're in the characters mind. It also may have problems people can relate to. If you like a book with laughs you should read Loser. I give it two thumbs up!

Book Review: A True Winner!
Summary: 4 Stars

I loved this book so much that we had our entire school read it this summer (67 kids and 5 adults). While it is an easy book with a seemingly simple plot, the story stays with you long after you finish reading. The images of this boy as he plods his way through school are either extremely personal or very familiar to most students. We decided to read it as a school because it gave us a common vocabulary. One girl told me today she felt as if she knew this boy after finishing the book. While I enjoyed Star Girl a bit more, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read.
