Book Review: Action Packed World Saving

Lost City is another action-packed thriller from Clive Cussler and Paul Kemprecos. As usual expect dashing heroes (Kurt Austin leads the pack), beautiful women (Skye Labelle), and a diabolical plot to take over the world. Standard for a Cussler thriller, ;-).
Of course archaeology is involved as Skye is studing the influence of ancient cultures upon other parts of the world and once she makes dinner plans with Austin he won't let anything get in the way. Whenever they reunite he reminds her of the dinner date and give that as the reason he rescues her.
I also was interested to note that when characters are discussint the submersible Alvin they mention its "real world" descent upon the Titanic shipwreck--ignoring Dirk Pitt's adventure in Raise the Titanic.
This volume definately held my interest as I navigated the twists and turns of the plot, but there was nothing truly exciting. I've read many other Cussler novels, I like them, but he isn't Charles Dickens or Lew Wallace. :-)
Still if you're interested in the ocean and saving the world from disaster then you should check out this NUMA files adventure.
Of notable interest is the volume I read--a new "Premium format" paperback apparently designed for easier reading. The pages are certainly larger (i.e. taller--which makes me wonder how this will fit on my bookshelves with other paperbacks), type is larger, and there is more white space between the words. I read so much that I don't pay attention to details like that, but they certainly didn't make it harder to read.
