Book Reviews of Love is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals - The Reference Book Describing the Metaphysical Properties of the Mineral KingdomBook Review: A to Z of Crystals Summary: 5 StarsThis marvellous reference work tells you everything about the metaphysical properties and use of crystals. The chapter Configurations describes the shapes and structures of the mineral kingdom, from the Ankh to the Window Crystal. There are chapters on Numerical Vibrations, Master Numbers and Preparatory Methodology, which serve as guides for those who wish to speed up their progress on the spiritual path. The last mentioned chapter deals with acquiring, dedicating, cleansing, awakening, charging and programming your crystals. The chapter Practical Applications provides information on crystal meditation, protection, elixirs and how to treat food, plants, your car and your aura with crystals. The chapter Additional Definitions serves as a glossary of terms, from Akashic Records to Yin-Yang. The main body of the book consists of an alphabetical list of crystals and their properties, from Acanthite to Zunyite. Here the appearance of the stone and its metaphysical and healing qualities are discussed. Astrological correspondences and numbers are also provided. The book has a beautiful cover painting, Crystals Of Life, by Charley Berryhill and concludes with a thorough index. It is a very useful and extensive guide to crystals. My only complaint is the lack of photographs or illustrations that would facilitate the identification of individual stones.
Book Review: Love Is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals Summary: 3 StarsI bought this book years ago and found it at first useful to some extent. But you really have to intuitively pick through the words to find the gems and the relevance to the crystals' use in your particular situation in order to use it to full effect. One passage in the lengthy explanation might be all that you needed to know, and all that is relevant. That might be difficult for those with less developed intuitive skills. The book focuses on positives only, so you don't get some of the other information available, but just ok for beginners who want a basic reference and don't need a pictorial guide.
Book Review: no pictures Summary: 4 StarsYOu have to buy her other two books to see what she is talking about good book though and informative i reccomend the crystal bible more it has every stone on this goddess green earth but..it has pictures as well more info.
Book Review: Expansive interpretation of crystal energy Summary: 4 StarsI like this book because it opens one to the possibilities. She is working from all sorts of anecdotal sources to give a very broad range of possibilities for the uses of many different crystals. Metaphysical and spiritual properties cannot be pinned down as - "this crystal is only good for this and this", and therefore a book such as this is useful to help the reader expand their sense of what is possible in working with crystals. A more structured, straight-line approach would not be nearly as useful as this book is. Highly recommended as a starting point and inspiration for imagining the possibilities in building an alliance with crystals.
Book Review: A Must for any Crystal Lover!!! Summary: 5 StarsI am a Crystal Healer and have always found this book to be extremely helpful and recommend it to any true crystal lover. You must remember when reading that we all are unique and different and so is each individual crystal. Melody has tried to address the overall meaning of each stone which is very helpful in confirming your own intuition and to help those that don't yet trust their instincts when they feel they need some Gem Healing! Wonderfully done Melody! Blessings to you.
