Book Reviews of Love Walked InBook Review: A beautifully written story Summary: 4 Stars
This book is beautiful. De los Santos has a flawless way of describing emotion. You fall in love with Cornelia and Claire and it really is a book you want to pass on to your favorite people - it touches the heart.
My only major issue with the book, and maybe the author did this on purpose as a way to describe Cornelia's intelligence, was that there were several "S.A.T." words that throw you off right in mid-sentance. Embarassingly enough, I had to look up several of the words so I could really understand what was being said. This is also a personal pet peeve of mine and therefore bothers me a bit more then it should. I have always found using overly-complex words to describe something fairly simple as pretentious and unnecessary.
Regardess of this however, the author is a beautiful story teller. It was a refreshing and timeless read.
Book Review: A keeper!! Summary: 5 Stars

Book Review: A thoroughly entertianing, delightful read about what we hold dear to our hearts. Summary: 5 Stars
I think this is an outstanding debut novel and I eagerly look forward to any other book Marisa de los Santos writes.
There is a depth in this book, beyond the storyline. A presentation of themes in layers that ring true especially for those who have not followed a traditional path and/or traditional timeline in life. I found myself feeling compassion for all the characters in this book. This book is filled with an insightful myriad of definitions of love. Love; the desire to love, love after a death (understanding how love still touches the hearts and souls of those who where loved), love for family, home, friends and finally love as passion, romantically, as well as passions for films, music, literature--whatever touches your heart.
I enjoyed the various writing styles throughout the book. Passages are written in first person for one character and third person for another. This does not seem confusing, just the opposite, it works to delineate the characters differences. People think, act and speak differently; especially, an adult verses a child. I enjoyed the moments where I felt the book spoke directly to me.
This book was a journey, one I loved from the first page and am still thinking about days later even though I am engrossed in a new story. "Love Walked In" seems to reveal that there is more than one interpretation of events or feelings. Life is full of choices and it is those choices that shape our lives. Do we choose happiness, satisfaction or struggle? What knowledge is gained with each choice? What do we love and hold dear and why?
Book Review: A thought provoking read Summary: 5 Stars
This novel illustrates how being confused or without a plan for your life is ok, that finding your path is a journey not an item to be checked off of a pre-planned list. I enjoyed the main characters realization that the man she had been waiting for had been right in front of her for years.
Book Review: A wonderful love story Summary: 5 Stars
Cornelia meets Martin Grace, a man so close to her ideal man, Cary Grant, that she hopes that he is the one. Clare, the eleven-year-old daughter of Martin Grace, is abandoned by her ordinarily loving mother. Clare, who is not close to her father, finds herself living with Cornelia and what began as a love story between a man and woman becomes, around mid-novel, the love story of a woman and a little girl. De los Santos' prose is extremely beautiful and elegant. Both Cornelia and Clare are vivid and likable characters that the reader will root for. My only complaint with this novel is the ending takes so many turns, but the novel overall is lovely. Literary fiction fans will love it for its beautiful language, and chick lit fans will love it for its confessional tone.
