Book Reviews of Love Walked In

Book Review: I have a new favorite author!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this book because I bought the other one (turns out it was the 2nd-they go together)and LOVED it. I wish De Los Santos had more books out! I love the way she fleshes out her characters - they seem like real people. The plots are believable and not so predictable which makes the reading so much more fun. They aren't trashy and have real-life issues. I have added De los Santos to my list of favorite authors - I will buy any book she writes.

Book Review: I love love loved "love walked in"
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was like eating a big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream with a giant spoon; it was delicious. It's not a love story in the classic sense, but it fulfills your every desire for a good love story. I was pleasantly surprised when reading this novel. The love story between Clare, a little girl whose world gets turned upside down after her mother straddles the line between sanity and insanity, and Cornelia, an old soul with a big heart, is so heartwarming and delightful. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good carefree read.

Book Review: I loved this!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book. It is a wonderful romantic story about not getting what you want, but getting what you need. The story is split into the different and distinct voices of Cornelia and Claire. This is a sweet story, but it's not overly done; it's a romantic-comedy, in a fresh and satisfying kind of way; it's an orphan story for the twenty-first century. The serious themes of mental illness, abandonment, divorce, death, and true love are all handled with a light touch. I loved the movie references by Cornelia, the literary references by Clare, but most of all I loved the author's lyrical sense of style... she's a poet so she definitely knows how to play with words. I found her writing style to be very entertaining to read. This is one you won't want to put down until you've finished! I didn't want it to end.

Book Review: If you love books and movies, this is the book
Summary: 4 Stars

This book is a joy if you read and read broadly. If your knowledge of older films is complete, so much the better. If you do not read across genres, I suspect this will be a fairly ordinary novel. I think the particular charm is that it is a book about readers.
It does have fine characterization.
de Los Santos has a wonderful way with a sentence. You occasionally want to stop and linger over a sentence here & there

Book Review: Is there a word stronger than both Hate and Boring but ecompasses them both?
Summary: 1 Stars

I didnt like this book at all. I felt like, every character was soo.....I dunno, she tried way too hard to make each character overly interesting. It got kind of boring. I wanted to put the book down right after I got to clares first chapter. I didnt like the change in narration...I didnt like the cheesiness of it...or the predictability. This book was awful. I would never read it again. Also, you'd better be on your p's and q's about old movies...and pieces of literature if you're going to read this
if not, you'll be completely bored with that too. No one told me I had to take a prerequisite course before sitting down to read this.
I wanted to like this book so badly, I loved the cover and the title. I thought for sure that this was going to be my new favorite. Instead, I found myself struggling through sentences, paragraphs, pages, and chapters. This was probably the worst book Ive ever made myself read.
