I give this book 4.5 stars because, while it is good, it's not quite as good as the author's previous titles. I did round up on the stars, though, since Amazon won't let you give half stars (a policy I think needs to be fixed!).
I did really enjoy the book and found the conclusion to be both moving and intelligently done, especially the logic behind Ellen's final decision. However, my main criticism, and why I felt it wasn't as good as the author's other books, is that the Ellen is also very hard to like at times. I guess it's because she's human and the author wanted to reflect her flaws, but it does become frustrating at times. Even distracting.
All that said, the story is very entertaining and, again, the ending is handled quite well. Also, if you're a fan of the author, there is a chapter from her new book (which it says is out next summer) in the back, which sounds really good.
