I came across Tony Buzan's work in 1990, when I had just started studying for a degree whilst working full time. It was not until I read this book that I actually learnt how to learn quicker, more efficiently and be able to access that knowledge easier.
Throughout this book you are given examples, explanations and tests that you can use to prove to yourself within minutes that what you have just been told works. In fact, not only are you told at the start how incredible your brain is and how much you already know, but this book then helps you proves it !!
Each chapter could be a book in its own right, however the aim of this book, quite rightly, is to give you 80% of the benefit for 20% of the effort.

Clear, easy to read and understand. This book is not only practical, it can also change lives of those who take the lessons seriously. Applications from this book have made me effective in teaching a graduate school elective called Integrative Systems for Intuitive Natural and Creative Technologies (In.St.I.N.C.T.). The subject is very well recieved and is offered in three of the top business schools in the Philippines. Along with Buzan's other offerings, "Make the most of your mind" is an essential addition to anyone's bookshelf who enjoys the rewards of self improvement.A challenging read, that forces the reader to examine his fundamental perception of his own mind. Most important though, I loved every minute of reading this book!
I have recommended it to several of my friends and family members already!!
Book Review: Ideal for students: cheap and covers all the key student skills

Buzan has written several books like this. This is the one for students. It is cheap, it covers the key skills students need: listening, note taking, reading, creativity and memory.
This book not only helped me get my Ph.D, it made doing it possible in the first place by helping me to massively transforming my marks and my B.Sc grade in my 3rd year at University. I lent it to a friend and he improved his degree by a grade also.
Can't recommend this book enough. The cliche "transformed my life" exists for a reason, its possible and its true.
