Book Review: A charming surprise

I recently picked up a charming, wonderfully well written makeup book called Making Faces. The book is extremely well laid out with both the looks and exactly how this artist created them.
The instructions are simple and easy to understand.
Most of all I like his philosophy on beauty. He believes that there is no one set of beauty rules, just as there is no "right"way to look or apply makeup. He believes in experimenting and finding your own beauty. His guidelines are simply a starting point while you discover a look that fits you.
I highly recommend that you read this and pass it on to anyone you know who needs to feel beautiful, confident and sexy.

Kevyn Aucoyn is a wonderful, talented artist and an incredible human being-and this is a lovely collection of "made over" celebrities who (like so many of us)also adore Kevyn. Not a practical book for the "day to day" looks you can quickly use as you rush out of the house. Buy it for the celeb pics (and keep it on your coffee table or in the bathroom)-and get Bobbi Brown's book for real life make up tips.Book Review: A great book.

This book is a wonderful guide for anyone from a beginner, to the person who would like to try something new. It gives detailed information about applying make up to each area of the face. The large size, and full color makes the reading experience even more enjoyable. In addition, Mr. Aucoin adds make-overs from his sister to his mother, family photos, and celebrity make-overs to make this great book even more interesting.Book Review: A guide for make up artists everywhere

Wow....this book is very detailed in helping you learn how to apply makeup, what combination colors go together and how much to apply and where to apply it. I have never encountered a more complete book on makeup and the techniques that go into applying makeup and seeing all the steps, from basic to very ornate. You couldn't as for a better primer on makeup....very easy to follow.
