Book Reviews of Making FacesBook Review: Fantastic Kevin Aucoin Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book, like Kevin Aucoin's second book, Face Forward, is fantastic. Well written, the pictures are great. The step by steps are easy to follow, the layout is beautiful. The makeup looks are different from each other and interesting. Highly recommend, for both information and amusement.
Book Review: Fascinating, book and author Summary: 5 Stars
Kevyn Aucoin's book is so very interesting, just to see what can be done. Then if you want, how to do it. His personal attitude about makeup and life is so right-on. (to coin an old, but apt phrase) I love the way he invites people to spurn the fashion nazi's, and encourage people to be and look how they want. He ranges from the sweet natural look to the avant-gard all with instructions and photos. Many including a before and after, and diagrams. Great ideas to try. Fun just to even look through and marvel at.
Book Review: Fast and items was in prefect condition Summary: 5 Stars
I received the book fast and it was great. The book was in great condition and I am learning a lot of looks.
Book Review: For all who like to stick their fingers in makeup Summary: 5 Stars
I used the Lisa Marie Presley/Marilyn Monroe makeover to transform myself into MM in order to sing "Happy Birthday, Mr President" to my CEO. He still has the photo on his desk, and each time I see it I am amazed at how different I looked in Kevin Aucoin's makeup. The book will give you the inspiration and (hopefully) the courage to try new things. After all..it's only makeup! It ain't rocket science!
Book Review: From a fellow artist, I can say I only wish I got tomeet him Summary: 5 Stars
I am also a Makeup Artist in Los Angeles, where makeup artists are on every corner, and I must say Kevin is/was a true talent. When I read his heartfelt words, I realize he's not only a genius artist, but the most open-minded humanitarian as well. Him AND his work are truely inspirational...his art, I personally think, puts other makeup books to shame. From a proffesional standpoint I think his book is extremely good to have but his book will also be useful to the everyday person as he goes into alot of different helpful techniques. His book is amazing-so if you love makeup, go get it!
