Book Reviews of Maniac MageeBook Review: 4star winer Summary: 4 Stars
Heratbreak. Friandship. Racism. Knowing you have a home and a family. These are just of the things stored away for you in the heart of this book. In this book you will read about how people in a racially divded town feel about each other and that they do about it. For example, one family the McNab's don't even know blacks use thooth brushes like whites do and worse yet, the youngest McNab's, Russell and Piper, love to play "Rebels" {whites against blacks}they even fight over who has to be the blacks! Of course this is just one of the millons of problemsthat Maniac Magee has to overcome in this novel. I think Jerry Spinelliis putting himself in the story as Maniac because he wants to show that the color people are on the outside dosn't matter. It surely didn't matter to Maniac. he stayed with both kinds of people blacks and whites on his adventures and he loved them all!
Book Review: 5 Star Maniac Magee Review Summary: 5 Stars
Maniac Magee is a really fun, sad, and prejudice book. Jerry Spinelli has a great talent for writing. It seems like her writes for 6th and 7th graders beacause that age would understand how he writes, and about prejudice, and his humor. Jeffery Magee, also known as Maniac Magee runs away from his aunt and uncles house becuase they fight all the time. He goes to a town that is seperated by the blacks and whites. West end= whites east end= blacks. The majority of people are prejudice, adnt ehy stay on their side most of the time. But it all changed when Jeffery came along. Jeffery meets a black girl named Amanda. She lends a book to him and then later they meet up later on. She invited him to live with him, and he takes the genorius offer. Someone wrote "Fishbelly" on the Beals house, and Jeffery dicided to run away. He comes to a zoo, he starts to live in the buffalo cages. He meets this older man named Grayson. They have a really fun time, and Grayson askes him to help decorate his apartment for Christmas. Of course Jeffery took the offer. But a few days later, Jeffery has to go because of a emotional moment. After that he goes and meets these two little boys running away tryingt o get to Mexico. Their brother comes along... older one... it so happens that Jeffery met him during a little baseball match. The little boys invited Jeffery to live with them as long as he wants. Man, Maniac don't know what he is in for. He gets there and the house is a reck! There is a huge whole in the family room. The only beverage in the fridge was beer. Then a little later his dad comes home with a lot of Big Mac's. Geeze what kind of people are they? Maniac probably wonders. Later on Maniac leaves and meets up with Amanda... what happens next? I thouhgt that this was a really good book. I would recommend this to a fun person, and a person who enjoys a little sadness. It teaches me to accept people for who they are, because if you don't something could happen to you times ahead. Maniac Magee also taught me to respect people, and to see someone on hte inside, not the outside.

Book Review: A Book Review by Nick Summary: 5 Stars
Maniac Magee is an adventure/realistic fiction book with so much information you'll want to read it night and day. You won't want to put it down. If someone offers you another book say "no!" One of the big issues in this book is people dying. Maniac lost his parents when he was very young so he had to stay with his aunt and uncle who didn't even love each other. A friend was all Maniac needed. For him this isn't a hard task. When he needs a friend all he has to do is say something smart. Some of the friends he meets are the kind you meet once and then they chase you away. When Maniac wanted to go to school someone told him he couldn't because he didn't have an adress. Other kinds of friends he made were the ones who will stick with you all the way. Besides friends the most important thing to Maniac is a, wait, I can't tell you that or it'll ruin your reading experience. This book definitely deserves a 5 out of 5. If you read it you'll see why. I'm sure you'll like this book a whole lot!
Book Review: A Book with a Boring Touch Summary: 1 Stars
Maniac Magee is a book all about a boy and his many adventures. Not a lot of main characters. Maybe a lot of supporting characters but only one main character. From him out running the fastest boy in the neighborhood to punting a football from the best football thrower in the neighborhood. He's just a boy looking for a home and trying to find the right one. Overall this book is mostly likely just going to waste your time. Some of the material is not appropriate for kids under the age of 9.
