Book Reviews of Maniac MageeBook Review: A Maniac for Maniac Magee Summary: 4 Stars
Maniac Magee was a pretty good book. I thought Maniac was a cool character to put in a book. For example he was good in every sport and probably the fastest kid in Twao Mills. Maniac Magee was also full of suspense, you never knew what he was going to do next. For example I never knew who's house he was going to stay at. He could have stayed at the Beales, the McNabs, or the Pickwells. I also enjoyed reading about all the people Maniac met in Two Mills. The Pickwell kids are never late for dinner, Mars Bar is rhe tuff guy in the black end, and John McNab is the fastest kid in Two Mills. Maniac Magee was a good book. I enjoyed reading it
Book Review: A Maniac for Maniac Magee Summary: 4 Stars
This story takes place sometime in the past. The locations were Bridgeport, Bridgeport Zoo, the ( East End ) and the ( West End ). This setting is important because Jeffrey is a white kid and he ends up roaming into an African American society and at that time the world was segregated.
This book is mostly about a white kid named Jeffrey Lionel Magee from the ( East End ), Mars Bar an African American boy from the ( West End ), Mars Bars` brothers Hester and Lester, Hands Down ; Mars Bars` best friend and Amanda Beale the girl he met when he was running away. This story is mainly about a boy who runs away from home in search of a place to be loved and finally call home.
In my opinion this was an amazing book! It was interesting and made me want to read it. The desire was so strong until I couldn`t put it down. There were times I laughed until my stomach hurt and then other times that I cried with heart~felt emotion.
I would recommend this book because it was entertaining and suspenseful. This book was filled with realistic situations and the characters were wonderful and exciting. If you`re looking for something with exuberant laughs, this is the one.
Book Review: A Maniac of a Review Summary: 4 Stars
Jerry Spinelli's Maniac Magee is an excellent book for children of all ages. The book can be read to younger children or it can be read by children on about a fifth grade reading level.Jeffrey Lionel Magee, "Maniac Magee," is a boy around upper elementary age. He is an orphane in search of a place to call home and a family to love him. This book not only tells Maniac's story, but also the story of cultural, racial, and background differences and how they can be overcome with friendship. The only problem I found with this book is that Mania did not go to school, although he did encourage schooling and read numerous books. I fell that some children may find his way of living fascinating, therfore they may want to apply Maniac's way of living to their own lives.

Finally, Maniac gave up up and runs away. He ran 200 miles! Back then the whites and blacks were seperated. The blacks lived on the East End and the whites lived on the West End. Book Review: A RACE TO THE FINISH Summary: 3 Stars
Maniac Magee was an interesting book, that i enjoyedreading. there were a good variety of characters, for example MarsBars and Piper McNab. at first they didnt like people of a differentrace, but toward the end, they did'nt mind as much. if you took anycombination of characters and compared them, you would find atleastone similarity and one difference. another thing i liked about thebook is that if you ever got board or didnt like a certainstoryline,it would soon change. Maniac was always moving. Forinstance, if you didn't like Grayson or the band shell, Maniac soonmoved ...One thing i didnt like about the book was that it wasconfusing. The setting, charactors, and emotions kept changing. Thatmade the story hard to follow and understand at certian times. Thevariations of personalities, characters, and storylines made ManiacMagee such an enjoyable book.
