Book Reviews of Maniac MageeBook Review: A Review Summary: 4 Stars
Maniac Magee was a book that a kid may or may not like. I didn't love Maniac Magee but kids who like a story with a lot of different plots, people, and feelings would like this book. I made a little summary of it for you. Maniac Magee and the town of Two Mills had something in common they were different. Maniac lived on the road and he's only 12 and Two Mills is divided into the East and West end, blacks in the East and whites in the West. Maniacs parents did die when he was 3 and he did live with his aunt and uncle, but if you lived in the house of two toasters you would too. Maniac lived lively on the road because he lived with so many people like Amanda Beale, John Mcnab, Earl Grayson, and even some deer and buffalo! Maniac does some weird stuff like he saves a kid from the finsterwallies, he uncurled Cobblers Knot, and he even met a kid with a candy bar name. Will Maniac ever move back to the house of two toasters? Will Two Mills ever be One Mill, and where will Maniac call his home? Read Maniac Magee to find out! STARS-* * * *
Book Review: A Review From Dallas Summary: 5 Stars
Maniac Magee was an exellent book to read. Jerry Spinelli really got you going. This is probably one of Jerry Spinelli's best books. Maniac Magee is one of my favorite books. I will probably read it again. Maniac Magee was filled with lots of adventures. My favorite part was when Maniac Magee hit the first frog bunt homerun. My favorite chapter is 35 because Maniac Magee moved in with the McNab's that chapter. I hope you decide to read this book if you haven't yet. One day I hope Jerry spinelli writes a book just as good or possibly better than Maniac Magee. READ IT! It's agreat book. I'll give this book 5 stars.

Book Review: A Rich Story of Segregation By:SAR Grade 5 Summary: 5 Stars
What is segregation? Well, Jeffery Magee is the only kid in town who doesn't know. Jeffery "Maniac" gets bullied and injuried during his search for a home.Jeffery lives in many different places during his life at Two Mills. The town zoo and a baseball clubhouse are two of the places where he lives. In Two Mills Hector Street divides Whites and Blacks. East End for Blacks and West End for Whites. Jeffery doesn't understand why they can't live together. He is the only person that has ever crossed Hector Street. Maniac breaks records and wins fights on both ends of town. But now his friend is in trouble. Will Maniac save him??? This tremendous book is full of adventures. Jerry Spinelli did an awesome job on this well-written book. I recommend this fantastic book to anyone who needs a good read.
Book Review: A Story of a Hero Summary: 5 Stars
"Legends are made, not born." THis goes for Jefree"Maniac" magee. Maniac Magee is a suberb, engrossing novel by Jerry Spinelli. Jefree is thoughtful, energetic, and rude 12 year old boy. After Jefree was orphaned, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, for a short time. He then ran away, but he didn't know at the time, he was on a journey of a lifetime of adventures. When he reached Two Mills, he encountered many problems. After a while he realized that there was a East End and a West End. The East End was for the black people and the West End was for the white people. Maniac meets and then lives with a girl named Amanda Beale. After living with Amanda he lives with two other families (not including the buffalo pin). One of many strong points in the book is the intense and vivid language. Jerry Spinelli also gave you thought-provoking descriptions. There are also many week points amoung this book one of them is that it is unclear to tell Which side Maniac is on. The East eand or the West end? The message the author is tring to give is that friendship will always triumph over discrimination. This book is reccomended to children on higher reading levels, 5th grade and above (Adults will also enjoy this bright story). This novel is remakable, gripping and riveting book.
