Book Reviews of Marilyn MansonBook Review: A MUST FOR ALL MANSON FANATICS, WITH RESERVATIONS Summary: 3 Stars
A GOOD FILL IN THE GAPS BOOK IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ "LONG ROAD OUT OF HELL". GIVES SOME INSIGHT INTO DAISY BERKOWITZ'S POINT OF VIEW. BUT SEEMS IN PARTS TO GIVE MISINFORMATION, ESPECIALLY REGARDING INCIDENT INVOLVING MANSON-MIKESTAND-GINGER ACCIDENT, PLUS OTHER INCIDENTS. AN INTERESTING HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FAN CLUB IS HERE TOO. OVERALL, A WORTHWHILE, EASY READ.
Book Review: A excelent book detailing Manson's life. Summary: 5 Stars
This book is well writen. The author doesn't dawdle on one aspect of Mason excesivly. He manages to put forth all sides good and bad. He tells of the bands namesakes and gives you a breifing on them, while throwing in other stories and things to keep you interested. I recomend if you want know more about the Anti Christ.
Book Review: A shorter road out of hell Summary: 5 Stars
Though not the actual autobiography of Marilyn Manson this book gives you a good idea of what he went thtough as a child and the circumstances that created Marilyn Manson as we know him today. Though I had a lot of Ill will tward him before, now that I have read the book I see the kinder side of him. It's a good read at a great price.
Book Review: An instant classic! The feel bad hit of the season! Summary: 5 Stars
Not since Bugliosi's "Helter Skelter" and Ed Sanders' "The Family" has there been such a brilliant study of Manson. Why read the best-selling authorized autobiography - everybody lies in those, even if they are pretty entertaining lies. Instead, treat yourself to Reighley's revealing, insightful, glamorous and downright campy exposition of the Artist Formerly Known as Brian Warner. One waits with bated breath for Reighley's upcoming Puff Daddy monograph. Considering the publisher is generally known for quicky throwaway books (see Michael Krugman's poorly written "Oasis" and Martin Huxley's Trent-phobic "Nine Inch Nails") this is the year's most unexpected surprise. Delightful. Two snaps!
Book Review: Chickens and Pickles Summary: 5 Stars
If you want another side to the Manson story, read it. This book follows the same timeline as the autobiography, but from other people's points of view, as well as through many direct Manson quotes. But BEWARE: this book was obviously written after Daisy Berkowitz left the band and it seems much of the info was provided by him. But no matter, the book attempts to explain some things that most people (even Manson fans) overlook, and is definitely worthwhile for anyone who uses his/her brain.
