Book Review: Beautiful, Sensitive, Unique!

No-one could have presented the legendary life of Mario Lanza in pictures better than this author. Derek Mannering's chapters and text which accompany the exquisite pictures throughout the book is, as always, sensitively and beautifully written. The pictures themselves are of a superb clarity, standard and quality and many have not been seen before and are printed here for the very first time. They span the whole of Lanza's lifetime up to his untimely demise and funeral in Rome 1959. They come from the personal collection of Terry Robinson, Lanza's great friend and personal trainer. Robinson was with Lanza for all of the years at MGM, and until the singer and his family moved to Italy in 1957. However, his association with the Lanza family didn't end when both Mario and Betty died, it continues to this day, with Mario's daughter Ellisa, her husband Bobby and their two sons, Tony and Nick, who all call Terry 'Uncle 'T'! The publishers and printers of this book are to be highly congratulated for producing a work of sheer beauty and class, this is a book anyone would be very proud to own.
