Book Review: Hot but sort of icky
Summary: 3 Stars

I've read the Bound Hearts series by Lora Leigh and although I don't usually go for the menage thing, I thought they were really good and I was only mildly disturbed by the premise in those books. I read the first two books in this series and although they're really hot, the premise made me really uncomfortable. Maybe it was the idea of the males in the story being with another woman. In the Bound Hearts series. the males introduce another man into their sexual relationship, but they never involve another woman. I guess that's what made me so uncomfortable about it because I was almost okay with the first book, but the second was icky....

The other thing I thought was 'off' was that these male characters were tortured souls and the premise was that they needed to share their women with their brothers in order to feel any closeness to their brothers after the abuse they had suffered together. They needed THERAPY!! There was never any mention of any attempt to get over this warped perspective on their relationship so how could they ever get even close to healing and get on with their lives...

Book Review: Hot menage story...
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book! I was not interested that much in the suspense/thriller aspect of the story...so I am not taking any stars off. I think the brothers were very alpha and sexy. This is my kinda book and I hope to read more of them in the future!

Book Review: I tried to be Fair.....(spoiler alert!)
Summary: 2 Stars

But I just don't LIKE this series and I won't be reading any further. I didn't even FINISH this book. The sex was NUCLEAR in hotness, but the storyline made it nasty, dirty, and downright tawdry. I couldn't get into it.

I've got nothing against menage or erotica (hello? I BOUGHT the book right?) but the "If you love me you'll do my brothers and me too" and the "NEVER TELL ME NO! I'll BRUTALLY RAPE YOU if you do!!!" Stuff is just WRONG WRONG WRONG.

And she finally comes to the point where sharing herself with all three is HOT and not that disturbing and what does the author do? "If you LOVE ME you'll have sex with this WOMAN"

At that point I was so DONE. And these boys had some seriously serious psychological problems. They were brutally raped as children by their dad and FORCED TO LIKE IT. Instead of dealing with the trauma of abuse? They allow that trauma to be the reasoning behind their boorish, mean, evil, and downright ILLEGAL behavior towards women.

Not hot. SO not hot.

Please. If you, like me, look for a little "reality" with your fantasy? DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!!!

But if you can take it? If you can separate reality from fantasy? Then you'll LOVE this series.

My problem is: I went to all the trouble to READ the damn reviews and then IGNORED them. HOW SMART WAS THAT?

Book Review: INCEST IS NOT ROMANTIC! It is GROSS!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

This a book about a girl who was raised as a sister to 3 men. When she grows up she gets the hots for one brother in particular-Cade. For a fair portion of the book she tries to get together with him while he abusively pushed her away.

Eventually they start getting together. As their sexual relationship progresses, he is still emotionally abusive. He, further, very very HEAVILY PRESSURES her into sexual acts that she is not comfortable with.

This leads to the incest! If the fact that she has been raised with these men as siblings wasn't enough, she then is pressured into having a sexually incestuous relationship with all three men.

To me, this is VILE! YUCK! The level of emotional abuse and sexual manipulation is enough to make me hate the book, but adding incest...is beyond disgusting.

If all of that wasn't enough to leave you heaving, the book is jam packed with typos and poor writing. Furthermore, the pitiful excuse for a suspense plot is laughable. The book would have been better without it.

If you read this book, one don't pay for it, and two keep the barf bag handy.

Book Review: Implausible plot, poor writing skills exhibited
Summary: 1 Stars

This book was recommended to me as good erotic romance, which may have made me expect more than I found. Ms. Leigh's writing skills are very poor, and the fact the error hadn't been corrected during the editing process has made me leery about buying more books from Ellora's Cave. As for the story line, I found it very hard to believe that any dominating type man, even one who had been abused as a child, would allow his brothers to share his woman, much less insist on it. I also found it impossible to believe Marly or any other modern woman would consent to such an arrangement in any circumstances.
