Book Review: Be prepared to cry!

I was sobbing uncontrollably by the end of this book the first couple times I read it! Now I am able to control the crying, but still feel myself getting a little choked up. What a beautiful story and the illustrations just really make an already great story incredible! When my baby wakes up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep, and I feel my frustration level rising, I picture this one scene in the book of the mother (you'll know the one when you read the book) and I am able to change my thought process into one of love for my little baby boy.Book Review: Berkeley Breathed Does It Again!

I loved, I mean L-O-V-E-D this book. So did my kids. I cried. They cried. We read it again and cried again. It is obvious that Breathed has stepped into parenthhood with his heart wide open. Berkeley Breathed confirms what all Mum's know, but loved to be reminded of by their often demanding, attention-grabbing yet lovable children! Mum's are essential in their lives and the children are equally essential to their mother's and this charming book beautifully illustrates this. I empathize with many of the scenes in the book. My children loved the drawings, the martians, Milo and the space ship. My son's comment, when asked if he liked the book was, "It's Awesome!!" This book has taken a permanent place in my heart. Mr. Breathed's jocular prose, coupled with some of children's literature's the most spectacular and FUNNY artwork (the picture of a jellybean colored Martian trying to capture a mom using a Starbuck's latte as bait made me laugh 'til I cried) is designed to appeal to children with a wry subtly for adults. I received this as a present for Mother's Day, and immediately went out and bought it for every mother I know. A MUST have for every child who has ever had a mother.
